ARTURO TOSCANINI CONDUCTS BEETHOVEN CD-753(1)
Both performances are sparked by a celebratory dramatic tension
and excitement.?
-Martin Bookspan in Prodigy
On balance, this Eroica...is a free reading, at times occasionally
atypical in its breadth, but still not so broad...in the first movement
as the more familiar 1953 account released by RCA. In contrast, the Fifth
is very fast, at times febrile, and though it is well played in terms of
getting all the notes in accurately, it is glib... Highly informative notes
by Christopher Dyment comprise a major bonus.?
-Mortimer H. Frank in Fanfare
